Sponsored by the Huntsville Community Chorus Association, the Huntsville Community Children's Chorus (HC3) is comprised of two ensembles. HC3 and HC3jr.  HC3 is directed by Suzanne Purtee, and open to singers in grades 4 through 9.  Singers between 3rd and 5th grade may participate in the HC3jr, which is directed by Lea Hoppe.  Both groups are focused on developing strong musical and vocal skills.

Instruction and rehearsals for both ensembles are held late Monday afternoons throughout the school year.

Tuition
Tuition for HC3 currently stands at $175.  The Enfinger Foundation recently selected the chorus as a recipient of a Non-Profit Arts Organization Grant.  This grant is specifically to defray tuition costs for choral students in HC3 & HC3jr.

   Meet the Director!


  Suzanne Purtee is currently the Organist and Choirmaster at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Huntsville, moving here in March 2006 from her home in Delaware. While in Delaware, she served as Director of Music and Organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersy. In that role, Suzanne managed a comprehensive music program that included vocal and handbell ensembles for children from age four through high school, as well as several adult choral groups. Suzanne is a graduate of the University of Kansas, McGill University in Montreal, and Duke University. She served as Assistant Director of ChildrenSong of New Jersey, working with two auditioned community children’s choirs. In the summer of 2005, she studied choral conducting in Sarteano, Italy.
