Huntsville Community Chorus - 2008

The Huntsville Community Chorus (TheChorus) has been presenting great choral music and musicals for our great city and beyond for over sixty three years.  TheChorus continues to grow in quality and artistry even as the North Alabama region continues to ripple with positive changes.

With its adventurous repertoire, TheChorus has attracted varied and enthusiastic audiences and talent, and has collaborated with other community organizations such as the Huntsville Symphony and Youth Orchestras, and local college and high school choruses. With its symphonic chorus performing works ranging from Orff’s Carmina Burana and Bach’s Magnificat on the classical side, to jazz greats, country classics, and large works from Broadway and the movies, TheChorus provides a choral experience unmatched in the region. TheChorus supports not only its 160-voice Symphonic Chorus, but also a 28-voice Chamber Chorale, and has two Children’s Choruses (HC3 and HC3jr), and produces a full musical and melodrama each year.

“What a privilege and pleasure to be associated with the Huntsville Community Chorus.  What a tremendous group of singers!  I continue to be impressed with not only their skill level, but also with their depth of commitment to making the Chorus such a vital, dynamic entity in the life of our great city.”  (...more from our Director)
                              – Billy Orton – Music Director/Conductor
