The Chamber Chorale
From this Symphonic Chorus has emerged an even more select ensemble to bring yet another dimension of song to the region—The HCC Chamber Chorale. This group of singers from the larger Chorus produces the beautiful and intimate sounds of choral chamber music and is able to extend the presence of HCCA into venues where the Symphonic Chorus is not always able to go.

Past concerts have involved outstanding special guests such as pianist Sarkis Baltaian, jazz trumpeter Ken Watters and U.S. Army vocalist Alvy Powell.  This year’s endeavor represents an incredible (and rare) opportunity for choristers, the chance to work with and perform the music of noted composer David Maslanka.

From madrigals to jazz, from Copland and Vaughan Williams to Whitacre and Lauridsen, from classic to lively and whimsical, the HCC Chamber Chorale is a new shining light in the constellation of North Alabama music making!

The Chamber Chorale is directed by Billy Orton, with accompanist Dr. Eric Wilson. Many of you know Eric and appreciate his extraordinary talents.  He will help to shape the sound and impact of both the Chamber Chorale and the Chorus in this new year ahead.
