The Huntsville Community Chorus sponsors scholarships each year to reward achievement and excellence in vocal music.  They are named in memory of Albert H. Lane, and in honor of Kenneth V. Turvey, Director Emeritus of HCCA. 

The Turvey Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors.  The Lane Scholarship is for post-high school students. In addition to the monetary awards, recipients are given the opportunity to perform with TheChorus as guest soloists during the season.

Winners were selected based on performance, achievements, essay and letters of recommendation.

We are pleased to announce the 2011 HCCA scholarship winners. 

The Ken Turvey ( high school senior) winner is Amy Ellison. 

The Albert Lane (college student) winner is James Desta from UAH.
